Terms of Service

Welcome to Litmus by Aivirex ("Litmus", "the Service", "we", "us"), operated by AiViREX Innovations LLP("the Company"), registered office at 24th Street, Shankar Nagar, Pammal, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600075, India. By creating an account or using Litmus you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Definitions

  • Service — the Litmus website, scanning engine, and any exports it generates.
  • Account — the profile created via Google Sign-In to use the Service.
  • Credit — the unit consumed for one billed scan, purchased individually or as part of a plan.
  • Target Site — the URL you submit for Litmus to crawl and score.
  • Scan Data — the report Litmus generates for a Target Site (scores, flagged issues, recommendations).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a binding contract under applicable law to use Litmus. Anyone can create an account — Litmus is not restricted to registered businesses.

3. Your account

Sign-in is via Google only. You're responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your Google account secure. Provide accurate information; don't impersonate anyone or create an account for anyone else without permission.

4. The Service, and what it doesn't promise

Litmus produces a deterministic, rule-based audit of how well a site is structured for AI search engines and answer engines — it does not query live LLMs, and doesn't use paid third-party APIs in its default scoring. Scores, flagged issues, and recommendations are estimates based on on-page and technical signals, not a guarantee of how any AI system (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, or any other) will actually rank, cite, or surface a site. Third-party AI systems change their own behaviour constantly and are entirely outside our control. Improving a Litmus score does not guarantee more traffic, citations, leads, or revenue.

5. Credits, plans, and rescans

Scans are paid for with Credits, bought individually (pay-as-you-go), via a monthly or yearly plan (which grants a fixed number of Credits up front), or as a top-up on any plan. The first two rescans of a Target Site are free; every 3rd scan of that Target Site (the 3rd, 6th, 9th, and so on) consumes a Credit like a fresh scan. Only the latest 3 results per Target Site are retained — older ones are deleted automatically once superseded.

Monthly and yearly plans are billed as one-time payments — Litmus does not currently auto-charge you on renewal. When a plan period ends, nothing is deducted automatically; you choose whether to buy again. See the Cancellation & Refund Policy for what this means for cancelling and refunds.

6. Your responsibility for Target Sites

You must own the Target Site, or have the authorization of its owner, before submitting it for a scan. Don't use Litmus to crawl or scrape a site you have no right to access — Litmus only fetches publicly accessible pages, but the legality of doing so for a given site is your responsibility, not ours. We may suspend scans that appear to target sites without authorization, or that attempt to abuse the scanning infrastructure (e.g. excessive request volume, attempts to bypass rate limits).

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Litmus's scoring logic;
  • resell, sublicense, or provide third-party access to the Service without our written consent;
  • scrape, crawl, or programmatically access the Litmus website or API outside any documented interface;
  • use the Service to build a competing product;
  • upload or submit unlawful, infringing, or malicious content through any part of the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

8. Intellectual property

Litmus, its branding, scoring methodology, and underlying software are the property of the Company. Nothing in these Terms transfers that ownership to you. You retain all rights to your Target Site's own content. The Scan Data generated for your own Target Sites is yours to use, including in the Markdown/PDF exports built into the Service, for your own business or client-facing purposes.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that scans will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every issue affecting a site's AI visibility will be detected.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including decisions made based on a Litmus scan. The Company's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the Company harmless from any claim, loss, or demand (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your submission of a Target Site you weren't authorized to audit.

12. Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay in INR. You're responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase. We're not responsible for losses caused by failures of the Razorpay platform itself — its own terms apply to those. Don't attempt duplicate payments after a failed transaction; contact us instead.

13. Cancellation and refunds

See the Cancellation & Refund Policy for full details. In short: all fees, including unused Credits, are non-refundable.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can permanently delete your own account and all associated data at any time from Dashboard → Danger zone — this is irreversible. We may also suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, non-payment, or suspected abuse. Accounts inactive (no sign-in) for 12 consecutive months are deleted automatically; see the Privacy Policy for details.

15. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may change from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above; continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

17. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the Service. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
